Welcome to M\u00f5niste Rural Life Museum, the oldest and southernmost open-air museum in Estonia!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our exposition offers an excellent overview of the local rural life from the prehistoric period until the first half of the 20th century, providing a rare opportunity to visit one of the few older type barn dwellings in Estonia, 2 different smoke saunas, learn about the history of M\u00f5niste manor and much more. Visitors can also explore and shop at the store of M\u00f5niste Tarwitajate \u00dchisus (M\u00f5niste Consumers\u2019 Association). It was opened in 1926 & closed before World War II. However, after its previous ambience and interior were fully recreated, it continues to serve as our museum shop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

English audio & text guides are available when visiting our museum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are open:
1st of May \u2013 31st of September: EVERY DAY 10 am\u2013 5 pm
1st of October \u2013 30th of April: Monday \u2013 Friday 10 am \u2013 2 pm
Closed on public holidays!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you wish to visit our museum with a larger group, outside of operating hours or enjoy our smoke sauna, please book your visit beforehand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
