KARILATSI OPEN AIR MUSEUM!

WELCOME TO KARILATSI OPEN AIR MUSEUM!

The Karilatsi Open Air Museum is the largest open-air museum in South Estonia. It is situated near the historic postal road in Karilatsi village and can be easily located by an old windmill that is one of a kind on that road. The territory of the museum covers over 5 hectares. It includes carefully reconstructed historic buildings that create the atmosphere of the parish centre about 120 years ago and allow visitors to experience life in Karilatsi back then. The heart of the museum is the old village school with an exposition that covers the history of local schooling and educational system. The exposition also includes numerous agricultural old-timers, such as steam engines and threshing machines.
